Have you tried rebooting the device after the charging? In other words, turn it completely off (on a ST, this means holding the power button down for about 5 seconds and it will ask you if you want to power down completely and you say yes). I have a ST that has ALWAYS had the rapid drain problem, and it always fixes it if I turn it completely off right after a charge. You can then turn it back on right way, because you have actually rebooted it and this has always fixed it for me.
