The Walking Dead is a black and white comic, so color doesn't matter for that particular series. The only e-ink device the series is available for is the Paperwhite (either generation), and it should be available on all Fires. It is published the same as the paperback volumes, so you won't always be immediately caught up. The volumes collect 6 issues each.

I have never encountered a library that lets you borrow such titles in electronic format. But that doesn't mean they don't exist. I would check with your local library.
