I know!!! I really want to read Gerard, I've heard good things, but I tried her first book in her first series and about fell asleep. IMO, it was boring. So I'm trying to decide if I should read out of order to get to the higher rated books or just slog on.
I think in this instance if she'd just started out with brand new series she might actually garner more readers, having so many interconnected books is a bit of a turn-off.
