That's a better deal. $50 now for an extra 2 GB is not a good deal. I put in an extra 8 GB of RAM (for a total of 10 GB) for $80.
(Chrome and Linux on a 32-bit machine can make use of extra memory beyond 3+ GB, unlike Windows.)
