That's how opinions differ. It's been almost thirty years since I read that translation and even after reading the English version repeatedly I still find the translation very well made. Any translation of a work of fiction is a balancing act between staying close to the original and creating a literary work in its own right. If those clearly English words and names had not been translated they would have had a jarring effect on the whole atmosphere of the book.
