If you poke it enough it will eventually discharge although I have no idea how long that takes.

based on my experiences there is also screen polling going on even when the device is turned off. My mini discharges much faster when I carry it in my backpack or pocket.

I think there is a good chance that it will recover, or when it reaches the point that no lights flash, it will recover when plugged into USB port on computer.

Hope so anyway.
