Side by side can display and edit several documents in a split window. It's pretty good to read a pdf or view a video online and take notes quickly on the side. It has a free and a paid version. The text editing is extremely basic though.
There is also an app called Double Note that works with only two text files I think. I haven't tried it. The price seems to be rather erratic but right now it's 0.89 euros.
