Do Sony T3 devices only work with Sony Ereader or can other ereaders be installed?

I assumed this meant installed onto Sony T3 and was not about replacement for Sony desktop software for buying books from Sony or Adobe Digital Editions That is also useful for loading DRM epub books onto a Sony Reader.
