Good for you Drew if that works for you. Unfortunately I don't like reading on my retina display. The way it projects light is fine for games or a quick look over a magazine but for reading books E-Ink is still what works best. I get tired focussing on reading after very little time on the retina display.
Also, there is the problem of distraction. When I read I don't want e-mails, texts or tempting games popping up every few seconds. For me the more focused device works better. Whatever gets us reading.
