Yeah, I know, and I was conflicted about what to do about them, but in the end my need to control as much as I can about the downloaded fics won over.
I totally support the desire of authors to add what they think relevant to their fics and have no issues with seeing them online, I just prefer to have a limited number of tags in calibre and my tablet.
I suppose whitelisting is what I'll try; I think Fanlore has a list of tropes and genres I might include and tweak.
