Calibre Companion: changes to calibre's wireless device driver

The next release of calibre will contain a trimmed-down wireless device driver that no longer contains old low-performance networking code. These changes should have no effect on any version of CC released since the end of 2012. The next release of CC will also have this code removed. The reason for these changes: to simplify the wireless device driver and CC in order to increase performance and to reduce maintenance difficulties.

If you are a CC (wireless device) user and run from source, could you update the calibre source and try connecting CC? The changes work for me with the current and next (unreleased) versions of CC, but it would be nice to have additional confirmation.
