Never owned a Kindle, either, partly for the same reason's as sun surfer, partly because I wanted an SD card and the ability to customise as much as possible, so my first three devices were Pocketbooks, which won me over also for the 2 years warranty, the only manufacturer offering this at the time. I was extremely happy with those devices (in spite of lack of pearl screen), but when my 5" failed I bought the only other one on the market, a Kobo Mini.
Reading pdf (yes, I did it even comfortably on my Pocketbook 360) was a nightmare initially, but with third party apps it works with no problems, so now I am extremely happy with that, and with the abundance of Kobo vouchers and the possibility to take a trip around the world every now and then to find the books I need, I've found myself buying books almost exclusively from their store.
I've had a look at the PW2, but I will most likely get myself an Aura for Christmas, it is simply smaller and more portable than the PW2.
