In my car, I have an actual plug-in electrical outlet. During the days after Sandy when I didn't have power, I just went down to the car, started it up, and charged up my laptops and ereaders. Because the news reports had been predicting that the storm would hit land here, I had stocked up on few clip-on lights and batteries for them and my radio, and made sure I had a full tank of gas. I knew that I wasn't going to be driving anywhere, because nothing was open, so I was good to go.
