I can overlook it. I'm not picky as some think but this a design flaw of a new feature and I am sure on next year's model it will be fixed or maybe even further batches down the road.
I checked my new Fire HDX and there might be just a slight hint at the edges when it has the white background, but it may be me trying to make it so, I appreciate the explanation from another poster who was told it was to soften the viewing, kinda strange, but ok. Anyway, if its there, its not really noticeable on my unit and dont see it at all on sepia. I have to say, I dont see the sort of blotchy yellowness I saw on my Fire HD. This screen does seem improved for reading books.
