My 2 biggest problems:
- Frequent fan noise, never that intense before the update.
- Stutters when streaming from my Mac mini iTunes server.
I've googled because of the ridiculous fan noise:

I've tried the tip recommended:
Shutt off, Shift-Ctrl-Alt+Power, release all 4 buttons at the same time. Power on.
For now, no fan noise. I hope, it keeps that way.
My poor MacBook Air was that loud and ran that warm, that I really worried about its lifespan...
Fingers crossed, that the fan noise doesn't come back...
Hmm...
Maybe this really solved my problems?!
So far, no fan noise again. I have to watch it, but the last 30 minutes went quite smoothly...
But I have no idea, what this combination, described above, actually did (why would the SMC behave differently after a standard OS update?)....
Anyway, worth a shot if you've got problems with Mavericks. After all - it hardly can get any worse...
Oh man! The fan is back!
Maybe not quite as intense as before the trick, but definitely still way louder than before the update.
And my iTunes stream still stutters. Not as frequent as before. But before the update it never stuttered at all...
If I find the time, I'll make a clean install and definitely won't be using Mavericks.
By far the worst update I've ever experienced.
Crippled a once (once being 2 days ago) phantastic unit sheer useless.
A play of words comes to mind:
In German, there's the word "Depp" (as in Johnny). Loosely translated it means idiot.
From now on, I won't refer to Apple, but to Depple!
Damned fools...
