You have a template for doing fixed-format books--so I assume you mean a template you downloaded somewhere, is that right? Images only, no read-along or audio, etc.? And you need to put hyperlinks in...what? In the image? Do you have your images and text separately, with the text floated atop the image, or do you simply put page images in, that already have the text on them, as part of the image? This is for Apple's iBooks format? if it's for Apple, you must have text separately from the image, correct, as they won't take books that have "images of text" as opposed to actual text?

Assuming all that is correct, you just put the link in the text. Like any other link. I'm not following the CSS question? If you're doing a fixed-format book, you already have CSS. Can you elaborate a bit more?
