Lol. I was just thinking the same thing.

I don't ever remember being pulled into the description of someone else reading, other than maybe some curiosity about what they were reading.

I think I'm drawn to stories where people handle books more than the reading of them. (Librarians, archivists, historians...) Although, the pull there isn't strong enough to actually seek those kind of stories out. But I do enjoy running across them.
