All of the news sources keep parroting that 2,000 new jobs figure. But is it really that many? In case they're unaware of it, constructions jobs are temporary. Once built, those workers move on.

So, just how many permanent jobs is Apple really creating? 700? or 2,000?

When Amazon builds a new warehouse and announces 1,000 new jobs, those are permanent jobs. They don't inflate their figures with temporary construction workers like Apple appears to be doing.

While this new facility is a good start for Apple, it doesn't come close to the number of facilities Amazon is building all over the country.
