Reading and books are so attractive that a book with reading persons or books on a shelf catches me up.
To make me read a book starts with someone getting home and finding John reading, or Rita reading a magazine, or the cat over a book on the sofa. Even a newspaper exerts the same effect, and if someone is reading a Kindle, like in
Mr. Penumbra, well, I simply can't get over the temptation of metareading.
