Sometimes it's Amazon, but publishers have been doing it quite a bit too with new releases (books marked down the same at all retailers). Sometimes, like this book, it's Amazon price matching a sale from Google (or someone else). I've found that more often for books and movies Amazon is just matching the cheapest price from elsewhere, they aren't having as many of their own deals anymore.
