Did you try this several times?
Did you follow step 5 in each detail?

If you don't give up and start the whole installation again, you might even open library>books and open launcher.png before continuing with step 6. The reason behind opening library>books is, that when you do this the first time after putting a new book on the reader and enter the book menu, the reader creates a thumb image. This triggers fmon, and koreader is started.

Koreader is very responsive on my Touch (as I know from another thread we are currently on the same FW version)
The major problem I am having with koreader is that it sometimes crashes as soon as it is launched. I then have to delete the settings.reader.lua and (but I am not sure if this is really necessary) all history files with a size of 0 byte, to make it work again.
