One other odd possibility comes to mind -- at one time, I was using a 2GB uSD card and it had been formatted to FAT and I simply ran out of directory entries. Copying the files off the card, reformatting to FAT32 and copying the files back fixed that problem.
If you try connecting the Kobo without Calibre running, can you see the files on the drives or do they still show up as empty?

I have no card on my kobo, only using the main memory.
What I still don't get is what happen for it to stop working, it only started to acted up in the last month maybe, so what changed?
Any tips on how I may get the drivers? Maybe and app that automatically detects and downloads the drivers?
