Apologies for my ignorance when it comes to ebook reader prices

, but my point remains: remove all the connectivity hardware and software and I'd think that the device would be considerably less expensive to manufacture (although Yapyap's point about companies taking a loss on devices to maximize profit on ebooks is valid. Eventually, I think, a smart company
not connected to ebook sales will make just such a device).
