The KPW2 definitely has reduced shadows and is more even. On my KPW1 the light shadows created a V-effect that goes up about 4 lines of text. It is more apparent in person than in the photos. Then try to imagine that superimposed over text. There is also light-bleed on both left and right edges of my KPW1 while it's only on the right on my KPW2. I am definitely a lot happier with my KPW2!

Oh, yes, quite a few of mine that I received last year had that light triangle.
