It would seem likely to me, if that is what you did, you just reinstalled your problem back again.

In my own view and practice, it is always best to reinstall the applications themselves from their original media, not from windows.old. That especially so if one has reinstalled Windows during the process of trying to defeat some error.

If that is followed then install the application with the problem first, validate if it is working correctly or not, and if it is add the other applications ensuring along the way that the previously troublesome application is not compromised again by them.
