A 6" device is good for reading 2-column A4 pdf if there is 2-column option or if we adjust pdf beforehand using k2pdfopt, the same goes if pdf reflow option like in Sony Prs T1 is slow and you don't want to wait 5 seconds for the next page.

If pdf is common single columned A4, we should use reflow option in k2pdfopt(for both scanned or textual pdf) or better use 10" reader.

In kindlepdfviewer's 2-column mode on Kindle dx we use joypad (up/down & left/right) for navigation, similar to this.
