Well, in the old checkout I also got the choice for vouchers/promo codes and they worked. Tried switching to New Zealand to see if ti would work that way, maybe some promo codes were region locked after all, but no go. I don't know if the promo codes would have worked but there was no choice to use paypal and it wouldn't accept my card on that page so I couldn't even get to the promo bit.
Honestly, this worries me. If they phase out paypal and stop accepting my card on the new interface then when it becomes ubiquitous I'll be screwed...
