But the fonts are so comfortably larger on iPad Air. To me, ultimately that's what counts most. Bigger fonts = less eye-strain. (On iPad mini, making fonts as large as they habitually are on my full-sized iPad would result in more frequent page flips = annoying.)

If I had to choose a single iPad, there's no way I'd get the mini Retina over iPad Air. As it is, I think it's a good idea to possess both, or a combo of an older Retina 10-inch iPad with the new Retina mini. The Retina screen is a non-negotiable feature for me (again, due to reduced eye-strain).
