GIMP is a piece of junk... It's like trying to use Blender after using Autodesk's $3,000 almost $4,000 Maya.
It's like all Linux software, clunky. It's built for techy people who like to make things harder for themselves.
I mean, it's great after you've learnt your way around it, but I've been using Adobe stuff since 1997 - PhotoDeluxe, and then Photoshop. Prior to that, I was using a program that came on my Apple IIe, and then Microsoft's Paintbrush/Paint. So, when I started using the Adobe stuff, the tools were very familiar to me.
I guess I shouldn't call it junk. More like it's built in a way that does not resemble the iconology or setup of the programs that came before it. Nor does it function the same.
It scares people, and that's why even though it's an option, people still prefer to pirate Photoshop.
