In practice: Black and Decker just replaced my 14 month old mower, under a 2 year warranty, after I showed them my "Used - Like New" Amazon receipt.

With Amazon's vaunted customer service, would they be worse? Maybe yes, maybe no. It might depend on whether they still had any reconditioned units available at the time yours broke.
