Some others have complained of this in other threads, and most people have agreed this is a defect and if it annoys you to try returning it and getting a replacement.
It may be wise to open the replacement in store and look for any defects such as pinpricks of brighter light or the same defect before accepting the new device as a replacement.
If replacing is difficult (such as distance to a store or needing to send back by post), then take into account whether it is something you find acceptable before going to the trouble.
Bottom line, it is not normal.
