Yep, my thinking is that if the colors are good on the non-vignetting LCDs they should have used them instead. Color accuracy is really not a huge thing on a small 7" tablet. On a computer monitor where the user does a lot of image/video processing it would be a huge deal, and also on a larger tablet. But not so much on a smaller 7" tablet, at least not for most people. As long as the colors look reasonably accurate and vivid, that is enough for probably 99% of the users.
BTW, I still think you should make them replace that 2nd HDX too, especially since it was obviously damaged. You basically paid for a NEW unit then they replaced the NEW unit with a USED and physically damaged one. That is just wrong!
