Search Kobo Web vs. Desktop

I searched on the Kobo Desktop and got 30+ hits for Vagrant Viking, all but one trash porn of various varieties. On the Kobo Web site I received only one hit - the book Vagrant Viking by Peter Freuchen.

The reply from Kobo about my query was a cut and paste afterthougt that gave me no information. But really, why isn't it a bit more child friendly for the searches. And is there any method of advanced searches available for either Desktop or web site. Booleans? PCRE?

TIA
