stand alone or chapters?

My new collection has 7 stories in it. They were originally designed as stand-alone stories for bedtime reading, but sometimes events in one story affect events in a later story so there definitely is a reading sequence.

target age group for this is 4-6 or 7.

Should I leave these as stand alone stories, or should I label them a chapters?

(Scrivener keeps wanting to label them as chapters, but I can edit that out in Sigil when I'm creating the final epub file.)
