I've never replaced a screen with a NEW one, only with USED ones. I've had one success and one ... almost success, like what you've described. (see the pictures in my K3 Problems album)

Just for further information for the rest of us, where did you purchase the replacement screen?

Remember, it's not a complete failure. It's still a decent reader, it just doesn't show images worth a damn anymore.
