Every year at this time, a certain acquaintance feels it necessary to remind me that Black Friday and Cyber Monday occur while "Mercury is in retrograde." I don't recall ever having had serious problems with the electronic devices I've bought on those days, but astrologers seem to think I've merely been lucky, and that bargains are fragile compensation when "communications are in chaos"!
