I do think that Historical fiction is at least one genre where I prefer a woman author. And yes - I notice and appreciate there is a different emphasis between male and female writers and writing especially on the subject of women in history.
@critteranne perhaps you could start the thread you refer to?
Being in Aus it's hit and miss whether any of the titles people post are available to me and the cost is another matter again. But hey, if I want the title then I country shop around.
