If everyone thought that way this would be a better world, IMHO.

However, growing up with one or the other sets of plumbing can, and often does, provide a very different view of life, our culture, and those with the other set of plumbing.

I don't think this perspective is something I'd want to pursue, specifically, but I can understand why others might.
