To import Kindle eBooks into Calibre you need a way to put them on your Mac, and the Kindle app is the only way to do it. I agree, the Apple forum is as good a place for this question as the Calibre forum but I was looking on the Calibre forum to see if anyone was testing to see if the gateway apps like ADE and Kindle work.
