Parallels has been doing that since the Leopard days. That's why a lot of people get it bundled. Mostly with crap software, but it's still Parallels for so much cheaper.
I wouldn't worry too much. You get the new Safari in Mountain Lion, and Apple will continue to support it for a few more years.
Gotta watch out for the app updates that might break though.
