Difference in page #'s??

I came across something that looks odd this morning. I was looking up when "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" was published and among data listed was the page count.
607 (UK)
759 (US)
Does anyone know why it is there is such a difference in pages between the two? Is it a matter of page size or something else? Is it a common difference between UK and US publication of a book or something unique?
