What's most impressive about this feat is the speed with which Google overtook Apple in this area. Just a few years ago, maybe 2 or 3, Android apps were maybe 1/10th the number of apps that were in the Apple store.
The only logical conclusion from this is that Android app development has been exponentially more active than iOS app development over the last few years.
