The article contains data/links to both iOS and Android. Both are over 1 million apps now. Who got there first is irrelevant.

Quantity is secondary. It's about quality. iOS is a clear leader in terms of apps quality for now. Also, in terms of tablet-optimised apps, iOS has a dominating lead over Android for now.
