Not really. You can give them away free for 5 days every 3 months and attract negative reviews from people who wouldn't otherwise look at it, and it's technically possible that someone might "borrow" it (ie get it free) at other times.
I've played around with it a bit this year, there aren't any advantages in terms of visibility or Amazon promotion like there used to be, and free downloads don't get you on also-bought or best-seller lists anymore.
