Calibre recognizes iBooks, but stopped sending books

Since about a week Calibre does recognize iBooks, but stopped sending books. When trying to send it give the errormessage:

I'm running version 1.7.0 of Calibre and installed the latest version of the iOs reader applications 1.2.1. This plugin installs twice, for some reason, but I configured both. (if I delete one, they both disappear).

I can add books in iBooks by sending the epub to desktop, dragging them into iTunes and synchronize, but Calibre used to do it directly. So; it is not a huge problem but one I would like to resolve.
I would appreaciate any suggestions.

edit: I'm using the iPad1 and iTunes 5.1.1.
