Eternal debate. Not wanting to take sides, but I do believe it warrants a mention that some do call it the Kindle 5. Wikipedia, for example, lists the $69 black Kindle as Kindle 5 and the name is used on some forums.
Officially I don't think there *ever* was a Kindle 4, either. It was just the Kindle. It was labelled as 4 by people, just like the black 4 was labelled as 5 by some people due to change of color (and maybe rear material?) and the fact that it was a visible member of the fifth generation launch.
I do acknowledge the topic is controversial, though.
