What do you mean when you say 'recognized'? At the OS level (windows explorer) or are you referring to Calibre.
I think the MTP support comes from Windows Media PLAYER (11?).
(Dell D4600 here and my old Shuttle AMD which won't even run Sigil)
My TAB shows on both (as well as the Sansa Clip in MTP mode, but only on the Dell. Spotty coverage seem the rule
