Yes, it looks like you're right. you had to use the same kludge of embedding fonts as the PW2. Fortunately the Nook can be rooted

Shame about the Kobo screen. Hopefully, they'll fix it. Otherwise the only reasonable mainstream reader on the US market is K4/5 (i.e. rootable with a v.good screen). Not being able to add custom fonts on a lighted screen would be a serious shortcoming for me, what with the issues the light introduces.
