Please explain why do you need dhcp?

Just specify mac address when starting usbnet:

insmod $driver_root/g_ether.ko host_addr=46:0d:9e:67:69:eb dev_addr=46:0d:9e:67:69:ec

I set up usbnet and it works well with network manager on my ubuntu.
