The software on the e-ink Nook models and the customer service is lightyears behind Amazon. I have no experience with Kobo, so I'm not sure if the same is true there, but I suspect it might be.

I converted from the Nook Simple Touch with Glowlight to the Paperwhite 1/2, and would never go back. Even if Barnes & Noble releases another e-ink reader (which I honestly doubt will happen), I don't think it will be a prime choice.
